Heat treatment (ISPM 15 COMPLIANT)

In accordance with regulations for shipping goods overseas N&C pallets ltd are ISPM15 approved, and we work under the guidelines of the forestry commission.

From the 1st of January 2021 all wooden pallets and wood packaging moving between the Uk and the EU must meet ISPM 15 international standards by undergoing the heat treatment process and markings. Every piece of wood packaging that is treated should be marked with an internationally recognised mark to prove the pallet/ wood has been heat treated to the ISPM 15 standard. This mark acts as a passport for the pallet to allow it to be confidently transported across international borders.

What makes wooden pallets ISPM 15 compliant?

ISPM 15 Requires wooden pallets to be heated in accordance with a specific time – temperature schedule that archives a temperature of 56*c for minimum duration of 30 continuous minutes throughout the entire profile of wood, heat sterilisation minimises the risk of insect and pest infestation as the moisture levels are reduced by the heat treatment process.

All wooden products that have gone through this process by N&C pallets ltd will be accompanied with a heat treatment certificate with our company registration and a graph showing the heat treatment process, this gives you complete confidence there will be no problems with your exports.

We have an onsite kiln that we run day and night to keep up with the demand for ISPM 15 pallets.
